On the cards this looks to be a very interesting light welterweight fight. Undefeated Devon Alexander is making his first WBC title defence against the Colombian Urango, who is the current IBF light welterweight champion. In Alexanders five year professional career he has notched up a perfect record of 19 fights 19 victors with 12 knockouts, which includes his last one sided contest against the Brit Junior Witter (Witter retired after 8 rounds because of a hand injury).
Juan Urango is a tough Colombian with a record of 25 fights, 22 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw. In his 8 year career he has never been stopped and won 17 of his fights by knockout. His two losses were both one sided defeats to both Ricky Hatton, who at the time was unbeaten and two the highly rated current Welterweight champion, Andre Birto.
In this fight my prediction is a Devon Alexander victory on points. Although Urango has shown his power in the past I can’t see him defeating a skilled opponent like Alexander, who is without a doubt one ot the best light welterweight around bar possibly, Amir Khan.
